TAMUK Composite Rabbits
PLEASE NOTE: We no longer raise TAMUK rabbits. If you're interested in finding a breeder near you, we suggest checking out the TAMUK-C Rabbit Breeders Facebook group.
The rabbits that we raise for meat are called TAMUK Composite Rabbits. We chose this composite breed because they were designed by a professor, Dr. Steven D. Lukefahr, at Texas A&M University - Kingsville. The program has since been disbanded, but these rabbits represent a combination of seven total breeds and were bred for two primary reasons, coat color variety and heat tolerance! We also have a few New Zealand / Californian cross does who we utilize as meat only breeding stock. Our pure TAMUK litters are for sale as breeding stock as well as utilized in our meat program.
